NNG collaborates with Renesas for CES 2018 CONNECTED COCKPIT VEHICLE

NNG announces that it has collaborated with Renesas Electronics Corporation for its Renesas Connected Cockpit Vehicle Demo, which will be held at CES 2018. The demo features the latest iteration of NNG’s state-of-the-art connected navigation solution. Built using Google's latest Android™ 8.0 operating system (OS), it makes full use of the latest capabilities of Android, while deeply integrating with Renesas’ latest innovations in connected automotive hardware.

The project offered significant opportunities for innovation, learning and creativity in the growing connectivity field.

NNG has a longstanding relationship with Renesas, and co-operation at this level is a natural evolution of that. NNG is proud to lend its expertise to Renesas’ Connected Cockpit Vehicle Demo. Giles Shrimpton CEO of NNG commented

NNG develops cutting-edge navigation solutions for the global automotive industry. The integrated solution NNG provided for the demo sends location-based contextual data to other applications on the platform, while also leveraging personalized data coming through Renesas’ interface. Personalized and predictive solutions are focal points in NNG’s innovation strategy.

The NNG connected navigation solution uses Android to run both on the center stack and to display key navigation elements represented in a window on the instrument cluster. This enables distraction-free automotive navigation. The center stack and instrument cluster are running a safe OS and Android concurrently using an automotive virtualization system.
