Israel-based Arilou specializes in automotive cyber security
Budapest, Hungary. (4 August, 2016) — NNG LLC – an industry-leading supplier of automotive navigation and infotainment software — today announces the acquisition of majority shareholding in Arilou Information Security Technologies, a company specializing in automotive cyber security.
Arilou develops high-end cyber-security solutions for the automotive industry. Its technology provides security systems designed to detect and protect vehicles from the threat posed by hackers as automakers focus more and more on connected and autonomous cars. Its technology is designed to prevent the remote takeover of the car’s computerized systems such as multimedia and locking systems, that could enable a thief to unlock the car doors, stop the engine, or even activate the brakes.
“As more and more vehicles become connected, we increase vulnerability to outside influences that could greatly disrupt a vehicle’s systems and potentially cause harm to both passengers and the vehicle,” said David Wiernik, President at NNG. “NNG’s acquisition of Arilou is a direct reflection of our company’s vision to supply car makers and drivers with the latest services and tools to make navigation and infotainment user friendly and safe.”
This move shows NNG’s commitment to continually broaden its scope and bring the most advanced products to the marketplace, as demonstrated by the earlier acquisition of Nfuzion in 2014.
